What we collect
Almost everything we hold comes from you, through the form on this site or a conversation with an advisor. That includes your name, your phone number, and the care details you choose to share: who needs care, the type of care you are looking for, the area of Los Angeles County you want, your timeline, your general budget range, an email address if you give one, and anything you write in the notes.
The form saves your answers as you move from step to step. If you start it and stop partway through, we may still have what you entered before you stopped.
Please do not send us medical records, diagnoses, insurance numbers, Social Security numbers, or financial account details. We do not need them, and we do not ask for them.
How we use it
We use what you give us to do the thing you asked us to do: understand the situation, match your family with senior living options that fit, arrange tours, and follow up with you about your inquiry. We also use it to keep our own records of the families we are helping and to improve how we work.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent it out to data brokers or advertisers.
Who we share it with
This part is material, so we want it stated clearly. To do our job we share your information with senior living communities and care providers. That is how a tour gets scheduled and how a placement gets arranged. A community we introduce you to will generally receive your name, your contact details, and enough about the care needs, timing, and budget to tell us whether they can serve your family.
Once a community has your information, that community handles it under its own privacy practices, which we do not control. If you would rather we not pass your details to a particular community, or to any community until you say so, tell your advisor and we will hold off.
We also use service providers that operate this website, host our data, and help us manage inquiries. They may process your information on our behalf in order to provide those services. Separately, we may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person.
Analytics and this website
Like most websites, this site may use standard analytics tools to measure traffic and understand which pages people find useful. Analytics of this kind typically involve cookies or similar technologies and collect things such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and the site or search that sent you here. We use it in aggregate, to make the site better, not to build a profile of you.
Most browsers let you block or clear cookies in their settings. Doing so will not stop you from using this site.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send for as long as we are helping you, and after that for as long as we reasonably need it for our records and to meet legal and accounting obligations. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will, subject to those obligations.
Your choices and how to reach us
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also ask us to stop contacting you, and we will stop.
To make a request, either use the contact form and tell us what you want done, or call us at (323) 675-2991. We may need to confirm a detail or two so we know we are talking to the right person before we act on the request.
Deleting our copy does not reach a community that already has your information. If you want your details removed from a community as well, ask them directly, and we will tell you which communities received your information so you know who to ask.
California residents
We serve families in Los Angeles County, so most of the people who contact us are California residents. Under California privacy law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, California residents generally have the right to know what personal information a business has collected about them and where it came from, the right to request that it be deleted, the right to correct information that is wrong, the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Sharing your details with a senior living community happens because you asked us to find you care, and you can tell us to stop at any point.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the form on this site or by phone at the number above. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof of that authority. We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lesser level of help for making a request.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging care for themselves or for a family member. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you send us, and we limit access to the people who need it to help you. No website or database is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our service or the law changes. The version posted here is the one that applies, so it is worth a look if it has been a while.
